Oh My, Mushroom!
Look what Hannah found growing down by our creek.
Now, I know mushrooms grow a lot bigger than this, but this is the biggest mushroom we’ve ever had in our yard. It measured 11″ across the cap and about 3″ across the stalk! I guess they like all this hot steamy and wet weather we’ve been having.
Well, I am impressed! I am not sure I have ever seen one so big around. Have you ever seen (or should I say SMELLED) a stinkhorn? We had one in our yard awhile back and it seriously had to be one of the most disgusting mushrooms EVER. It lived up to its name and more.

We’ve been taking nature walks on tuesdays by the river and we found some AWESOME looking mushrooms. They almost looked like something from fairyland!

No I’ve not had the “pleasure” of seeing or smelling a stinkhorn mushroom! I have to admit that I’d at least like to see one for a second or two anyways (and get a picture!).
