National Bird Day

Did you know that January 5th is National Bird Day? I didn’t until today! Anyways, I’m adding it to my January Nature Notables post. That day would be a great day to put out some bird feeders or spend time observing your bird feeders and learn a little more about our feathered friends. Or bundle up and visit a local park that has a pond or lake which attracts water birds. Let the kids use a camera and capture some photos to put in their nature journals. Or for younger children do a fun bird craft and make yummy candy bird nests.

    I am so excited to learn about National Bird Day too! We put both of our new bird feeders up today! I can not wait for the visitors to start arriving!!! Thanks for putting up those great links as well…think I’ll use that for a fun National Bird Day school day!
