I was looking over the book list for Snow and Ice, how do you choose which books to get for the unit study? Do you go by the child’s age, etc. or how do you make that decision? I looked at Shining Dawn Books for the answer, but didn’t see specifically how to make book choices.

Hi Kim!
Sorry it took me a while to respond to you…tis the season for too much busyness! Our book lists are comprised totally of books that either Cindy, I or both of us have personally read and approve of. And the ones that are listed as “launchers” on the units are our favorites and highly recommended to go along with the unit. The books we choose are not grouped by age, we just simply go with the ones that have a “living book” feel and are educational about the subject. So, we suggest you do just as Cindy and I would both do:) for our own homeschool, check as many of them out from your public library as you can, and peruse them first and choose which ones you know will be yours and your children’s favorites.
